So the crux of Viki’s business model: sharing Asian content subtitled in multiple languages is flawed, in that Viki uses volunteers for their subtitles. I’m so grateful for this ask because it lets me rant even more! :D Originally posted by kdramaxoxo viki premium viki kdrama still the best option for now It might be streaming competition but a lot of shows I look forward to, I’m forced to watch on illegal sites. I’m not sure if this is actually true, but it FEELS like there are less currently airing shows getting bought by Viki.

It can be frustrating to have to wait days for content you’ve paid to watch, when it’s already available on the free sites. I’m baffled by this business model honestly, but it means that less popular shows take longer to be subbed. Subs on viki are done by volunteers, sometimes slowly.(most gif people use raw files but dangit I’m lazy and Viki works great for me!) Creators: If you like to make screengrabs or gifs, Viki has a much nicer image output so your images will be prettier.Viki is getting some of the old DramaFever (RIP) shows which is nice.

If you like watching as things as they air, viki plus is worth it.

There are some other services but they are either not generally subbed or available in the states. True netflix is getting in on the k-drama game but the catalogue is very limited.
